Missy Lancaster Releases New Music Video ‘Never In Love’

Missy Lancaster Releases New Music Video ‘Never In Love’

Emerging singer/songwriter Missy Lancaster has just released the new music video for her latest official single ‘Never In Love’- the third single from her debut album, PIECE OF ME.

The album, released in January this year, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Artists Country Albums chart and #25 on the ARIA Album chart.

The ‘Never In Love’ music video was directed and produced by the Golden Guitar nominated Jeremy Dylan and Ellie Willoughby. The track was produced in Nashville by hit-maker Josh Kerr (Kelsea Ballerini, Dylan Scott).

“This is the most vulnerable song on the album, and I think anyone who has had their heart broken will connect with this on a very deep level,” says Missy. “This is a song I have to hold back the tears on!”

This release follows the success of the album’s previous single ‘Heatwave,’ which has been streamed over 2.1 million times across the world. It peaked at #2 on the Australian Country Airplay chart and the music video went all the way to #1 on the CMC Top 30 Countdown.

Earlier this year, Missy Lancaster was nominated for New Australian Artist of the Year at the 2018 CMC Music Awards and she was recently the first Australian feature artist in Apple Music’s “Country Wide” global promotion as well as being a feature artist on Spotify’s “Fresh Country” playlist in early 2018.

And it has just been announced that Missy will bring her ‘Piece of Me’ show to the Tamworth Country Music on January 24 at Moonshiners Honky Tonk Bar. This will be Missy’s only full band show during the festival. Supporting Missy will be the 2019 Toyota Star Maker winner. It will be a show not to be missed and tickets are available now at: http://hyperurl.co/MissyTCMF

Missy Lancaster Releases New Single ‘Forget’

Missy Lancaster Releases New Single ‘Forget’

It is with great excitement that emerging singer/songwriter Missy Lancaster releases her brand new single ‘Forget’ through Sony Music Entertainment Australia today.

‘Forget’ is co-written and produced by highly sought-after Nashville writer/producer Josh Kerr – a writer on the recent #1 US hit single ‘My Girl’ by Dylan Scott and the Kelsea Ballerini hits ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ and ‘Dibs.’

Missy was signed to Sony Music following the successful release of her independent EP last year, which included the popular tracks ‘That’s What I’m Talking About’ and ‘Back Row.’ She went on to be voted a Top 5 finalist at the CMC Music Awards for New Australian Artist of the Year in March this year.

Missy speaks to a generation that is less about categorisation and labels and more about strong, relatable messages and unique creative expression. She describes ‘Forget’ as a big-hearted lyrical tale that incorporates “a rap style to the verse with a big country-rock sounding chorus.”

Missy has spent a considerable amount of time in Nashville in the last 12 months writing songs and developing her sound in the studio with Kerr and award-winning Nashville based Australian producer Lindsay Rimes (LOCASH, The McClymonts).

‘Forget’ is available now and is the first single from Missy’s forthcoming debut album, which will be released in 2018.

Missy Launches ‘That’s What I’m Talking About’ Video

Check out the music video for the first single from Missy’s ‘Missy’ EP, “That’s What I’m Talking About”. The video was shot in Sydney and Nashville and shows Missy in the studio writing and recording and having fun on location of a photo shoot. The studio is a place where Missy is spending more and more time as she writes for her first full length album release.

And, in even more great news the video was selected as the Video Pick of the Week on the Country Music Channel!

Missy signs with Sony Music Australia

Missy originally released the six song set independently in January this year, debuting at #9 on the ARIA Country Album chart. Now signed to Sony Music Entertainment Australia, the MISSY EP will be re-released and the video for first single ‘That’s What I’m Talking About’ launches today. The infectious country- pop track has already amassed over two months on The Music Network Official Top 20 Country Airplay Chart and was the #1 most played song on the KIX Country Radio network which hits over 40 cities around Australia.

Missy travelled to Nashville in October 2015 to write and record the EP with acclaimed songwriter & producer Lindsay Rimes (credits include Troye Sivan, The McClymonts, LoCash). The end result was a mix of songs co-written by Missy including “Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight” (written with Morgan Evans) and songs from some of Nashville’s top songwriters. “I love writing songs,” says Missy, “And I also love the challenge of taking a song by another writer and making it my own. The songs on Missy really suit where I’m at. I’m twenty-one. I’m having fun and my heart is definitely not broken (laughs). These songs. They showcase my personality.”

Missy’s sense of fun comes across in spades in the music video for ‘That’s What I’m Talking About’ which was shot on location in Sydney and Nashville. The video shows Missy in the studio writing and recording and having fun on location of a phot shoot. The studio is a place where Missy is spending more and more time as she writes for her first full length album release.

Missy has also been spending more and more time on the road, performing close to 100 shows in the last 18 months and with new dates being added to her tour diary all the time. Missy will re-launch the EP at the Tamworth Hats Off to Country Festival and will also make her debut appearances at iconic events including Gympie Muster and Deni Ute Muster in the coming months.

Alongside her own songs, Missy has worked with such names as Morgan Evans, Josh Kerr (who co-wrote Country-Pop star Kelsea Ballerini’s #1 hits ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ and ‘Dibs’), Jason Duke (who co-wrote ‘Dibs’ for the aforementioned Ballerini and just scored a cut on Keith Urban’s latest album), Phil Barton (who wrote the #1 country hit for Lee Brice, ’A Woman Like You’) and Lindsay Rimes.

“I am a country music singer,” Missy explains when quizzed. “I’m proud to be a country singer. It’s such a diverse genre of music and I think it’s ok to bring different elements into the country base. I’ve grown up mainly listening to country and that’s the style that comes naturally to me.”
